About 100 people participated in the second version of the open innovation contest “ENNOVA 2.0: clean grids, stable energy”, led by the company Air-e (distribution operator of the Colombian Caribbean coast). Ennova 2.0 is focused on creating innovative solutions to reduce the impact of industrial and salt pollution on the power grid in the departments of Atlántico, Magdalena, and La Guajira. The first-place prize of $15 million (~$3800 USD) was awarded to the idea Para oreja: artificial intelligence at the service of predictive maintenance. In a nutshell, the idea is to use acoustic signals to measure the amount of pollution on the insulators. Afterward, to prioritize preventive washing maintenance.
