Mikhail Polovinkin, PhD student

Mikhail Polovinkin is a PhD student in our group. In 2022, Mikhail obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Chair of Statistical Physics at Saint-Petersburg State University. He graduated with a Master’s degree in Physics from the same department in summer 2024. Both of his graduate papers were dedicated to the application of molecular dynamics method to the study of molecular systems. Additionally, in 2023, he completed an additional educational program on “algorithmic bioinformatics” at the Bioinformatics Institute. In September 2024, Mikhail joined the laboratory of Artificial Intelligence for Materials Design to do a PhD degree under the supervision of A. Shapeev. Now his research is focused on the calculation of material properties with the usage of molecular modeling within machine learning interaction potentials.
