Power booster for electric motorcycle

Development of electro motorbikes assisted with supercapacitors

Within the Skoltech Translational Research and Innovation program (STRIP), the power electronic team is leading a project related to electric vehicles. The focus is on light electric vehicles such as electric motorcycles, small cars or snow motorcycles. The aim is to provide a device which allows the vehicle to have extra energy and full power when it needs it for a short amount of time. This allows the vehicle to overpass an object, climb a hill and even win a race!

The “Power booster” is based on supercapacitor technologies and advanced power electronics to control the power of the vehicle. The demonstrator will be available during 2024, in a test bench supported by EMAX (Patent pending).
